Lock Faithful---I’ve been thinking about you all… All I do is think about you guys…The Lock is officially getting “transfer portaled.” The 2022 lock has most definitely been a victim of the portal and roster turnover. We’re getting ‘portaled, everyone.
With no further ado….Breaahhhhhheaaaakkkkiiiiinnnnggggggggggggg news:
Northwestern +25
On paper, this should be a Penn State routing. They are 4-0, blew out Auburn on the road two weeks ago, and now get a limping Northwestern at home. Penn State QB Sean Clifford has been very good this season completing 64% of his passes for 890 yards, 8 TD’s and 1 INT. At running back, they seem to think they have the second coming of Saquon Barkley in Nick Singleton who is averaging 9 yards per carry. He’s the real deal and this offense will get points on a Northwestern defense allowing 26 points per game and over 160 yards per game on the ground.
Northwestern silently has a very capable Quarterback in Ryan Hilinski who has the 3rd most passing yards in the Big 10. His LT Peter Sikorski is going to be a top-15 NFL draft pick and RB Evan Hull is a very good player and an NFL prospect himself. The Penn State defense is allowing 275 passing yards against this season and there’s reason to believe Northwestern’s offense will have some sort of success.
Northwestern has gotten smoked in the turnover battle in every loss this season but outplayed those teams (from a yardage perspective). Meanwhile, Penn State is Top-5 in the country in turnover margin. If Northwestern can take care of the ball, it’ll be a closer game than we expect. Everyone say it with me: THAT’S TOO MANY POINTS.
